About ESL of
South Jersey
ESL Program of South Jersey by La Casa Dominicana began in Atlantic City in 2016 under the leadership of Luis Rodriguez, Executive Director, and Aurora Boyette, Head of Education Services.

The ESL program is designed to improve the language skills of adults and youth, and to, both, provide and enhance instructional opportunities for immigrant people by breaking down the courses into three levels: ESL Beginning Low, ESL Beginning High & Intermediate Classes. Each level requires a placement test to ensure that the student s are being taught at the level most suitable for their comprehension - which aids in the successful completion of their classes and ultimately will result in reaching the goal of citizenship. In fact, because citizenship is such a priority, the program offers guidance for immigration and naturalization for students as well.
There are various benefits to learning English as a second language, including:
The ESL courses last 11 weeks at each level, meeting 22 days in the cycle and 44 required class hours.
The South Jersey ESL Program is offered in two locations: Atlantic City and Camden County. Because partnership is a priority for the program as a way to serve the community as much as possible, the ATlantic City location has partnered with the Police Athletic League, the Atlantic Cape Community College as well as Stockton University - and the Camden location has partnered with the St. Joseph Pro Cathedral and carious other community organizations.

Along with the ESL Program, additional services include: Guidance on social services for families and individuals (including navigating the healthcare system), internet traing for successful job searching, job readiness training (including resume building and interviewing skills training), life skills assistance (including fundamental banking services) and much more...
